Speech and Language Assessment
Every child’s communication journey is unique. A speech and language assessment is the first step in understanding your child’s strengths and needs.
Assessment: Discovery Session
Speech and Language Assessment
Part 1: Parent Interview (Zoom, 1 Hour)
I begin with a 1-hour Zoom session focused entirely on a detailed parent interview. This helps me gather important background information and understand your child’s communication history, strengths, and challenges from your perspective.
Part 2: In-Person Assessment (1 to 1.5 Hours)
Following the interview, I schedule an in-person session to directly assess your child’s speech and language skills. During this visit, I will be eliciting specific language samples, observing your child’s communication behaviors, and using standardized tools tailored to their needs.
For more comprehensive evaluations, additional sessions may be needed to administer standardized speech and Language assessments to gain a full understanding of your child’s abilities.
I also provide speech-language pathology assessments that contribute to diagnostic evaluations, including those related to autism spectrum disorders concerns, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals as needed.
After the session, you’ll receive a summary of the findings and clear recommendations for next steps—whether that’s therapy, monitoring, or additional support.
