Meet Your Speech Therapist
Arsha Shaji, M.Sc-SLP, RSLP
I'm a Speech Language pathologist with over 13 years of experience, including the past 9 years supporting families here in Canada. I'm registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and am also a proud member of RASP (Registered Autism Service Providers), which reflects my commitment to providing specialized support for autistic individuals and their families.
Having worked in India, Kenya, and Canada, I bring a culturally responsive, and family-centered approach to every child and family I support.
I have completed specialized training in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including:
Hanen Programs® (More than words)
LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning)
PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets)
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) – Level 1
Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) for gestalt language processors
PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
Various AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems including LAMP words for Life, Touchchat, TD snap
I work with children with a wide range of communication differences—such as articulation and speech sound disorders, fluency difficulties, developmental delays, childhood apraxia of speech, and supporting autistic and minimally speaking children.
I also enjoy working with toddlers who need an extra boost to kick-start their speech, language, and communication skills.
In addition to early intervention, I have valuable experience working with school-aged children through my role with the school district. This experience helps me understand the unique communication needs children have as they grow and learn, and I collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support success in the classroom and beyond.
My passion is play-based therapy and helping children communicate in ways that feel natural and joyful—whether through words, gestures, signs, visuals, or devices.
Whether a child uses single words, scripts, or devices, I meet them where they are and support their journey forward with care and creativity. I believe in working closely with families—because when caregivers feel confident and included, children thrive.
